About CTO

What is CTO? And What does it stand for?
CTO is a Fraternity based on St John's University Staten Island Campus. Chi Theta Omega are our Greek Letters which give us the name CTO. CTO also stands for Character through Originality, which is what we were founded on. We believe that each individual has their own unique character and we encourage each member to exemplify that character throughout their membership in the fraternity. Our colors are Scarlet Red, Black, and White and our mascot is the Dragon.

What is a Fraternity?
A Fraternity is defined as a group of persons associated by or as if by ties of brotherhood. Chi Theta Omega has been creating tight bonds of Brotherhood since 2002. Brotherhood is defined as an association of men, such as a fraternity or union, united for common purposes.

Why are our Colors Scarlet Red, Black & White?
We chose the colors Red Black & White to signify Strength, Stability, and Flexibility.

Why is our mascot the Dragon?
The Dragon was chosen for its Uniqueness and Individuality. This excerpt describes the members of this fraternity perfectly...Never cautious, the dragon is not afraid when faced with a challenge. They will defend and protect any cause close to their heart. Confident and strong they enter battles unassisted. Dragons are known for their powerful and majestic spirit. Often impetuous they rarely have a plan of action when making decisions. Successful in most endeavors, they almost always land on their feet. They are dedicated to the plight of others and are ready to provide assistance when called upon. Sincere and genuine with their feelings, they will always be honest and direct in their response. Dragons are blessed with the strong and majestic spirit which brightens up even the darkest nights. Act without Caution, for risk takers will prosper from their actions.

What do I have to do to join?
